The Gift Of Giving Back
on GAC's
"Country Music Across America"
(NASHVILLE, TENN)
November 30, 2006...When it comes to giving, many of today's top stars are off the charts in terms of their kindness and generosity. This week's episode of "Country Music Across America," Thursday, November 30, 9:00 pm/ET on GAC, features stories of several artists already busy spreading holiday cheer.
Host Storme Warren caught up with Charlie Daniels and friends at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium for the annual
Christmas for Kids benefit concert. Proceeds from the event fund shopping trips for some of the area's less fortunate children.
Alison Krauss assisted the jolly man in red as she led the Santa Train through the mountains of Appalachia. Now in its 64th year, the Santa Train is an annual train journey through Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee where volunteers take 15 tons of gifts, candies and toys to children. Thousands of families in rural communities turn out to welcome the Santa Train to their hometowns each year.
There's no telling if Tracy Lawrence was in the mood for turkey at his Thanksgiving celebration. Earlier in the week Lawrence fried up 200 turkeys in the parking lot of Nashville's Union Rescue Mission to ensure that the area's homeless would enjoy a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving.
Dierks Bentley explains the circle of success created by himself, Brett Beavers and Steve Bogard, co-writers of his most recent hit, "Every Mile A Memory."
Joe Nichols goes back to the future, aging 35 years for his newest music video and gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the four hour process that turned him into a 65-year-old man.
Tune in to learn the outcome of Troy Gentry's day in a Minnesota court and the highway robbery of some Alan Jackson road signs in Georgia.
And in part three of an exclusive interview with George
Jones, he talks candidly about
the woman who saved his life and
the hard lessons he learned
about the business side of show
business.
"Country Music Across America" on GAC: the only entertainment news show on television dedicated solely to covering the world of country music.
