FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Pirates, Poets, Possums, Oh My
Another "Country Music Across America"

(Nashville, Tenn.) September 20, 2007... Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks and George Jones are just some of the stars featured on this week’s episode of “Country Music Across America,” Thursday, September 20, 8:00 PM/ET on Great American Country.

Chesney gets philosophical about his brand new Just Who I Am – Poets and Pirates LP telling host Storme Warren, “It digs deeper here (his heart) and here (his head) and those are two pretty complicated places right now.” Country music’s busiest superstar also admits that his turbo-charged sprint to the top of the country music mountain may finally be taking its toll. “When you have the foot on the gas all the way for that long – and stay in one place – it gets tiring, mentally and physically.”

Garth Brooks is another superstar who owns real estate on top of that aforementioned mountain and Warren caught up with him and the writers of his record-breaking No. 1 hit, “More Than A Memory” as they celebrated at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Another star familiar with the view from the mountain top is Reba McEntire and she chats with Warren about the challenges she faced making her current duets collection. “It makes you step up and toe the line a little more,” she said about sharing the studio with singing partners.

And George Jones - the artist who originally led the charge up the country music mountain – was surprised by friends and family who came together to celebrate his 76th birthday at a Nashville restaurant. Among the guests were Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley and Joe Diffie. Word is that even in moments of complete surprise and shock, the Possum remains perfectly coiffed.

Cake of the wedding variety was served as Big & Rich helped three couples ring some very special wedding bells. As part of a radio contest centered on their No. 1 hit, “Lost In This Moment,” the duo hosted a three ring ceremony at the middle Tennessee log mansion once owned by Barbara Mandrell.

Warren and company head to the Pacific Northwest to join Blaine Larsen on a tour of his hometown of Seattle, Washington. “I love Nashville, but as you’ll see, this is a tough place to leave,” the 21-year-old explained as he toured the Pike Street Market, the Space Needle and the home of the NFL’s Seahawks.

We also get to meet Lonestar’s new front man, 23-year-old Cody Collins, during a special Nashville showcase.

"Country Music Across America" on GAC: the only entertainment news show on television dedicated solely to covering the world of country music.
