On This Week's
"Country Music Across America"
(Nashville, Tenn.) June 28,
2007...This week's episode of GAC's "Country Music Across America," (Thursday, June 28, 9:00 PM/ET), once again finds host Storme Warren traversing the country to catch up with all of country music's biggest news makers.
First stop is the left coast for a visit with Brad Paisley on the set of his "Online" music video. The hitmaker known as much for his sense of humor as for his guitar virtuosity is at it again, casting actor pals William Shatner and Jason Alexander. Evening out the cast is Maureen McCormick best remembered for her portrayal of Marsha Brady on "The Brady Bunch."
It's on to Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain, and where native son Keith Anderson takes Warren on a tour of his hometown of Miami ("my-am-muh") prior to a concert there. The two visited with Anderson's parents, chowed down some world famous KuKu burgers, dragged Main Street and caught up with Anderson's close friend, Larry Reece, the voice of the OSU Cowboys. The visit seemed like a page out of Anderson's current hit, "Sunday Morning In America."
Back in Music City, Dolly Parton received a special Academy of Country Music honor last week, picking up the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award at the Tennessee State Museum. Looking more diva than pioneer, the ever-lovely Dolly chatted with Warren about this latest tribute.
And the parents of a brave, young country music fan remind us of the healing power of music. Deanna Glossup spent far too much of her young life at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital as she battled Ewing's Sarcoma, the same form of cancer that country singer Kevin Sharp fought and won. Artists Sharp, Dierks Bentley, LeAnn Rimes and Rascal Flatts got to know Deanna from visits they made to the children's hospital. Deanna actually wrote a letter to her cancer, warning it of her fighting spirit and talking about the effect country music has had on her. "I can be feeling so bad and when I hear something good on the radio, I feel so much better." Deanna passed away recently and her parents and Sharp sat down with Warren to talk about their amazing daughter.
"Country Music Across America" on GAC: the only entertainment news show on television dedicated solely to covering the world of country music.
